by Marc Goodin, CEO of Storage Authority Franchise. www.StorageAuthorityFranchise.com

  1. Regrid.com for land features like shape, acreage, wetlands, and topography. And for Zoning and the owner's name. When you walk a property the app will show you where you are on the property.

2. Googles Near me search. Enter an address on Google and the site will come up on Google Maps. Then enter self storage in the nearby search bar. You will see the nearby self storage locations with the travel routes and miles. The websites of each neatr by self storages will be listed in the margin so with one click you can review each one to better understand your competition so you can determine your rental rates.

3. Stortrack.com This site will provide you with a ton of data on your competition and pipeline facilities including size and rental rates. It also provides demographics that when combined with the square feet of self storage provide square feet of self storage per person. And it can provide this data for various radiuses you choose.

At Storage Authority our goal is to help you understand how to use these apps and other apps and the dozen requirements of a great self storage site. If you have a question I would be happy to get on the phone with you. Marc@StorageAuthority.com
