Ok, so I didn't exactly ask the experts. I asked AI. But I happen to agree with the results. In no particular order- the top 4 reasons for owning a franchise business according to ChatGPT:
Time freedom
Proven you will make money if you follow the system
Established process & standardized stores equals more success
And my fav:
Ability to pivot into an industry you know nothing about
Here is why that is my favorite answer- because that is most if not all of the potential franchisees I talk to. They know self-storage is a great industry, they've read up on it, heard about it from their financially savvy friends or colleagues, they've seen the data.... but their success/career path/etc. up to this point has nothing to do with self-storage. They're about to jump into the deep end of a pool with no prior swimming experience.
