Let's start this blog with the... "all seeing, all knowing Carnac The Magnificent" , holding the envelope up to his head and and states......."Own a self-storage facility".
My first job was a dishwasher at an Italian restaurant. I would scrape plates and wash dishes for hours. During slow periods I would grate cheese and clean the meatball sheet trays that had ground beef circles slightly burnt onto them from each of the 40 meatballs. I smelled like a restaurant and was greasy like the kitchen when I left work.
A year later, my brother started a restaurant. I would help him once in a while when he needed assistance. Some people would suddenly quit or not show up for the day and the place could not run itself. He worked long days and lived the restaurant life. Not much time or his fiance and they called off their engagement after one year.
I recall one day when he was changing the fryer grease and spilled some 350 degree fryer grease on his foot. The grease burnt his foot right through his shoe and it took a long time to heal.
Another day, I walked in his restaurant while he had an employee cleaning out the grease trap from the sink. I was disgusted from the scent as soon as I walked in the door..
These few aspects and a lot more I could mention, are great reasons why self-storage is a far better franchise decision that any restaurant ever could be.
Well, time to go on vacation and enjoy my family and freedom. Self-Storage provides a lifestyle you can enjoy!
One more thing before vacation...opening the envelope... and it says, "How can you have huge profits and freedom to enjoy life?"
