By Marc Goodin, CEO of Storage Authority, www.storageauthorityfranchise.com

BUY STUFF

BUY EXPERIENCE

BUY TIME

GIVE IT AWAY

SAVE/INVEST

According to the experts Buying Stuff will not make you happy. What? Are they crazy?

That is what the experts say. What do you think?

Kevin O Leary

I agree with Kevin, the so-called experts and consultants should not be listened to. Unless they can prove they have been there and done what you are looking to do.

About 59% of polled Americans say that happiness - specifically, the ability to spend money on things that make me happy - is the most important benchmark of success.

I am not a buyer of much stuff but buying things like unlimited groceries, fishing poles, firewood, clothes, wine, and lots of stuff for my wife bought me lots of happiness in 2024

I know for a fact that buying (unneeded) Tupperware makes my wife so happy.

Plus buying stuff can save you time and make your experience more fun.

I get it. If you buy stuff you can not afford happiness is short-lived. If you buy stuff on your credit card and it was not paid in full it most likely will not bring you happiness.

What the experts forget to tell you is having an income stream that allows you to put money toward all 5 items above is what will bring you the most happiness.

For some, this is a job that pays $200K - 400K a year. But what happens at retirement or how do you retire early? To make that kind of income a $1M - $4 million invested in the stock market is not going to cut it.

But a 65,000 sf self storage very well may allow you to retire early with a $200K a year salary and even double and triple that.

If you want to learn more check out our website www.Storageauthorityfranchise.com or send me an email at marc@storageauthority.com and I will send you some great reading material to learn if self storage is for you.

We wrote the book. We learned self storage in the trenches. We designed, obtained approvals, built, manage and own self storage.
